A charity golf day at The Berkshire Golf Club was held on Thursday 27 October 2011. Mecco sponsored the wine at lunch and Savills looked after the refreshments. 20 teams of 4 took part and the winners were Robin Chatwin (from Savills and not political at all!), his wife Jo, Michael Silcock and Charles Farquhar with a total of 101 points. In second place, with 100 points, was Michael Robinson with three of Myles’ friends – Will Poole, Nick Pritchard and Oliver Tunnicliffe. 3rd place went to David & Tina Yates and Graham & Pippa Lark from Royal Cinque Ports.
Nearest the pin was won by Peter Logue for the men and Nan Brenninkmeyer for the ladies. Nearest the line painted on the 15th was won by Will Poole for the men and Anne Billings for the ladies.
There was an auction conducted by Nick Stewart and thanks must go to Saddlebrook & Virgin Atlantic, the Munro family, Snow+Rock, Jack Vettriano, Fairmont Hotels, Beverley Fairey and Nick Stewart for giving prizes. In addition, there was a Silent Auction for three items and thanks must go to Annabel’s, IMG and Srixon for their donations. There was also a raffle and the following are to be thanked for their prizes: Andrew Reynolds (RCPGC), BMW, California Tourism, Fiona Stapley (Editor of Good Pub Guide), Paul Anderson (The Berkshire), Redlibbets Golf Club, Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club, Royal St George’s Golf Club, South Carolina Tourism, The Berkshire Golf Club, Under Armour (golf wear) and Wentworth Golf Club.
