Five young men from IMG cycled in Italy.
Passo Dello Stelvio Cycle Challenge
As time ticks down to Thursday 30 June, five young but ageing riders from IMG – Ben Lawrence, Ryan Russell, Phil Willats, Elliot Whitham and Tim Rowe – take on the might of the Passo Dello Stelvio in Northern Italy on man’s trusted machine… the bicycle! The Passo Dello Stelvio is considered one of the greatest mountain climbs in the world and is feared and revered by cyclists around the globe. It’s synonymous with Italian cycling and riders from near and far come to test themselves and try and make it to the top. It boasts the highest paved pass in the Eastern Alps climbing to an oxygen starving 2757 meters and at a length of 24.3 kms. With a total of 48 hairpins and a climb of 1808 meters at 7.3% average incline in the Italian summer this will be no easy feat!
They are estimating the challenge will take 3-4 hours and will consist of a constant uphill climb that will really test them mentally and physically, pushing them to their limits. They would love your support and you can do this by sponsoring them and following their updates on their facebook page. This epic challenge will be filmed and photographed so you’ll be able to experience all the pain from the comfort of your own home!
