The Run to the Beat brings runners together for a half marathon in South East London starting and finishing at the O2 centre.
With 14 music stations playing carefully selected music around the course the beats are meant to help and motivate you around the course. Having never run for the bus before Steph is hoping that the beats will help her complete this feat in aid of the Myles Robinson Memorial Trust.
So she did it! Steph Doig ran 13 miles (well more of a slow jog really, but that doesn’t sound quite as good) in 2 hours 23 minutes which certainly isn’t going to break any records but was faster than she hoped for. She was thrilled and very lucky to have some surprise supporters at miles 9 and 12 which was amazing.
This was by far the hardest thing she has ever done and each step of the last mile was very very painful. She still has a very silly walk to prove it! For those of you who were waiting to sponsor Steph until she had completed the half marathon, now is the time. Please support this amazing cause.
