The annual Wengen rugby match, held in Myles’ memory on New Year’s Day, was won this year by England – for the first time ever. Not bad since it has been going since 2010! The Irish were good but the English were even better and it was a cracking match. Everybody agreed and Karl & Sabine Naepflin did a fantastic job organising it all, and thanks must go to them. If there had been a man of the match it would have gone to Ollie Banks, who scored four times. Michael Robinson and Andrew Corcoran have decided that there will be a man of the match next year.
The match was held, as usual, at the bottom of the nursery slopes in front of the Figeler Bar, and once again was on grass! No snow this year ….. and tags were used.
Paul Flindall, the English President, produced a scoreboard this year, which was very welcome and very popular.
Thank you to all the supporters who donated money (over £500 was raised) and to the Gay twins, Caroline & Catherine, who did the collection with a bit of help from their mother, Nicky.
