The Myles Trust - Football 2011

SUNDAY 8 MAY 2011

The 2011 Myles Calendar of Sport started with a football match at Charterhouse on Sunday 8 May. An old Carthusian XI again took on a Newcastle All Starts XI and a minute’s silence in memory of Myles was held before the match. Thanks must go to Paddy Millington-Buck for organising the Charterhouse side and the pitch and Charlie Lovell who was in charge of the Newcastle All Stars.

Charterhouse again won the match, closer this time at 4-3, and the goals were scored by Charlie Lucas, Jim Henniker, Elliot Carpenter & Paddy Millington-Buck for Charterhouse and Fred Sassoon, Ed Smith & Luke Mason for Newcastle. Jim Henniker was Man of the Match and the referee was Guy Walker.

After the match players and supporters retired to a pub in Putney where a good time was had by all (except, perhaps, Arsenal and Chelsea fans!).
