The first event in the newly formed ‘Myles Robinson Calendar of Sport’ kicked off on Sunday 14 March 2010 with a game on Big Ground, the prestigious first team pitch at Charterhouse School. An Old Carthusian XI took on a Newcastle All Stars XI and a minute’s applause for Myles took place before the match.
Thanks must go to Paddy Millington-Buck and his parents for organising it all and Charlie Lovell, who organised the Newcastle team.
Charterhouse won 5-3 (it must have been the ‘home’ advantage!) and each team wore dedicated T-shirts; the Charterhouse team were in pink with Robbo 09 on the back, whilst the Newcastle team were in navy blue with Slob 09 on the back. Both sides had a picture of Myles, and the match details, on the front. The Charterhouse goals were scored by Charlie Lucas (2), Alex Manby (2) & Harry Schofield (1). The Newcastle goals were scored by Fred Sassoon (2) & Will Mellor (1). Man of the Match was Fred Sassoon. Andy Conlon very kindly acted as referee.
There were 40/50 supporters plus the two teams. The match was followed by drinks and food in the OC clubroom.
£550 was raised for the Memorial Trust.
The teams were:
Charlie Lucas (Captain)
Paddy Millington-Buck (Organiser)
Angus Campbell Golding
Max Fox Andrews
Newcastle All Stars XI
Charlie Lovell (Captain)
